Profile
This Is The Place Heritage Park is a living history park at the mouth of Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City, across from Hogle Zoo. Its Heritage Village recreates an early Utah settlement with historic homes, shops, and costumed interpreters, along with hands on activities for kids. Families can ride the replica train, visit the farm animals and pony carousel, tour historic homes, and stop for donuts or candy along the way. The park also offers horseback trail rides and hosts seasonal events such as Little Haunts in October and Christkindlmarkt in early December. The This Is the Place Monument, dedicated in 1947, stands at the entrance. It is a classic Salt Lake City family attraction.
