Profile
The Homestead Crater is a geothermal hot spring hidden inside a beehive-shaped limestone dome at Homestead Resort in Midway, a few miles from Heber City. The mineral water stays naturally warm, around 96 degrees, all year. Visitors book one hour sessions to soak and swim, and snorkeling can be added. It is also a well known place for scuba diving, with intro sessions for beginners, certification dives and equipment rental. Paddle board yoga is offered on the water, and you can climb to the top of the dome for wide views of the Heber Valley and the Wasatch Mountains. Time slots fill quickly, so reserve ahead. It is one of the most unusual things to do in Utah in any season.
