Profile
The Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter protects a wide stretch of wetland and meadow at Kimball Junction, just outside Park City, and is operated by Utah State University. Inside the EcoCenter, families can explore hands-on nature exhibits, try the indoor climbing wall, and climb a four story tower to scan for birds and other wildlife. Outside, a long pier reaches over the wetlands, and the Wetland Discovery Trail offers an easy walk. Guided preserve tours, weekend crafts, geocaching and winter snowshoe rentals round out the options. The center is open Wednesday through Sunday, and admission is free with a small suggested donation. It is one of the most relaxed outdoor recreation stops in the Park City area.
