Profile
Red Butte Garden is a botanical garden and arboretum at the University of Utah, in the foothills on the east side of Salt Lake City. Visitors walk through themed display gardens and can continue onto natural area trails that climb the hillside for views across the valley. Locals know it best for spring bulbs, shaded summer strolls, and its outdoor summer concert series. The garden is open most of the year and closes on Thanksgiving Day and from December 24 through January 1. It sits right next to the Natural History Museum of Utah, so the two make an easy full day of outdoor recreation and learning in Salt Lake City.
